History

The Latter-day Saints have a long history at Princeton which, to our knowledge, began in 1931 when Henry Eyring (father of President Henry B. Eyring) joined the Physics faculty, eventually developing the famous Eyring Equation.

The Mormon community has grown substantially since the time Eyring held church meetings in his living room. Beginning in Fall 2018, the Young Single Adult Branch began holding regular church services on the Princeton campus, including a historic church service held in the Princeton University Chapel as part of a regional conference that the LDSSA hosted in November of that same year.

The following is an incomplete list of some of the many undergraduate and graduate alumni who have helped grow this community over the years. We’re working to compile a more complete history of the LDSSA community, including photographs and short stories, as well as to connect alumni with one another.
